Three minutes from Shibuya Station. Open all day, every day. Spacious. Good food. Super reasonable prices. It's hard to find a place that meets all those conditions, and in crowded Shibuya, it's easy to give up the search for that perfect cafe/restaurant/bar and just pop into the nearest place with available seats. If you know what I'm talking about, then you should remember the name "Dogenzaka 119". It's a casual Italian cafe, restaurant, and bar where they serve pasta, pizza, curry, and a wide assortment of wine, cocktails, and mojitos.

What's surprising is the pricing. Lunch is as cheap as 500-650 yen for a full meal, and if you pay an extra 150 yen, you get all-you-can-eat salad and soup. For an extra 200 yen, you get all-you-can-eat soft serve ice cream with as much fruit dressing as you want. Dinner isn't quite as inexpensive -- 1800 yen and up -- but there are a lot more options to choose from: sautéed jumbo shrimp, steak, roast chicken, jumbo honey toast, tiramisu, etc.

Dogenzaka 119 boasts an assortment of over 70 different types of wine available at 2500 yen/bottle. Glasses (wine, sparkling wine, cocktails, mojito) start at 500 yen. Check out their Frozen Mojito (500 yen) and Mega Mojito (6-7 cups of mojito in one cup for 2500 yen!).

What's great about Dogenzaka 119 is that it's so large and spacious that it's rarely too crowded. With a walk-in wine cellar, dining area, bar area, standing counter, terrace seats, and private VIP rooms (available for no extra charge), the restaurant can fit as many as 200 people.

And with their 4 TV monitors, 2 screen projectors, and full sound system, it's perfect for large parties and events. At the long green counter, visitors can chat with the bartender while watching a favorite TV show or cheering on their favorite sports team. The Gurunavi website (sadly only offered in Japanese as of July 2013) hints that for special worldwide matches involving Japan like the World Cup, there might be a treat from the bar if Japan wins!

Open from 11:30am to 5:00am of the next morning.
