Challenge your Fears: Ryujin Bungy

Don't look down, don't look down!

Some say there is no courage without fear. Come and test your courage at Ryujin Bungy, the highest bungee jumping site in Japan. Only the most reckless ones can jump from this 100m high blue bridge located in Ibaraki prefecture, 2 hours from Tokyo. No worries though, if you don’t want to jump, you can still admire the beautiful scenery offered by the surroundings.

After hours of whining, I finally put aside my fear of height and jumped thanks to the warm encouragement of the Ryujin Bungy crew. If you are a beginner, here is some advice they shared with us:

  • Don't look down
  • Don't close your eyes
  • Don't jump backwards
  • And do jump after the first countdown!

Bungee jumping is definitely something to do once in a lifetime – adrenaline aficionados will love it. And you, would you be able to look down before you jump?

3, 2, 1, Bungy!

It seems there are many people challange the jump! Has this become your addiction?

Unfortunately I'm too afraid of height to get addicted... But I guess if you don't have vertigo, bungy jumping can quickly become an addiction yes! Definitely the place to be if you're looking for some (much much much actually) adrenaline!

Nice bungy jump location just two hours from Tokyo. High enough you could almost use a parachute. My first and only bungy jump was from a 5-story construction crane in Dallas Texas. Very makeshift location and very scary. Basically for those of us with vertigo (me especially), doing a bungy jump is a bit like committing suicide. Only something you want to do once in your lifetime, and hopefully not the last thing you do...!

Haha exact same feeling! The people who jumped just before me however seemed to really enjoy it and were even waving and smiling at their friends' cameras while bouncing in the air... Totally impossible for me, stupid vertigo!
